A Letter From the Commitment Team

Hello Braelinn Star Parents,

Welcome back to another exciting year at Braelinn. We are your "Commitment Team," volunteers who will help show you how to turn the money you're already spending, into cash for our school.

The money we raise is used by the PTO for school needs such as improved technology, cultural arts programs, playground equipment, and other vital resources for the entire school.

Here's how it works: Many of the corporations we all purchase essentials from have programs that give back to education. A portion of the money you already spend on food, shelter, clothes and entertainment, can come back to Braelinn.

Read below for an overview of how easy it is to participate. Please, take a minute and get to know who wants to give money to our school, and how your family can make sure we get it.

Boxtops for Education

• We earn $.50 for every e-mail address you subscribe to the newsletter at BTFE.com. If you don't want the newsletter, simply unsubscribe. Tell your friends and family, no matter where they live!
• Many products have "box tops for education". Clip or tear it off and Braelinn receives free money! Please remember to: Check the expiration date, cut out the box tops on the lines, and put the box tops in a plastic bag with your student's name, grade, teacher's name, and # of boxtops on it. To find out about coupons and special promotions, visit www.btfe.com. 10 CENTS FOR EVERY BOX TOP!! Our goal is TEN Box Tops per family per month. A monthly contest for the classroom sending in the most for each grade level wins. THE PRIZE: 15 Minutes of Extra Recess! Yahoo!
• Shop online through Box Tops Marketplace. Up to 8% of each qualifying purchase is automatically donated to our school
• Purchase online at Barnes & Noble through the Box Tops Reading Room. We receive 6% of new books and 3% of all other online purchases.

Capri Sun & Koolaid

• Please save your empty capri sun and koolaid juice packs. There is a box under the PTO table for the pouches. Braelinn will receive $.02 for every juice pouch. This could really add up! Note: if sending them from home, please rinse first if possible the keep the stickiness to a minimum.

Cartridges for Kids

• This is a year-round fundraiser. Braelinn is accepting PDAs (palm pilots, blackberries, etc.), used inkjet, laser, fax, and copier cartridges, plus used cell phones, digital cameras, and iPods for recycling. All proceeds will be used to purchase software for the computer lab. For more information, contact Mrs. Richart.

Furtal

• http://www.furtal.com - Give it a try! This is a new on-line shopping fund raiser. Simply log on to it, click the Braelinn link, and start shopping!

Georgia Natural Gas

• Do you already use Georgia Natural Gas? Visit the website to sign up to make money for Braelinn. Braelinn has made as much as $525 in a single quarter!

Good Search

• Download the goodsearch.com toolbar or go to their website, designate Braelinn as your charity, and the school receives $.01 for each search. Searches by the Yahoo! search engine. We get $.01 for every internet search. If each household searches twice a day using goodseach, it would mean over $2000 for the school in 1 year!

Innisbrook

• We aren't doing the Innisbrook fundraiser this year, but you can still order from them to get your favorite supplies! Simply go to www.innisbrook.com/ecomm - the school number is 122794.

Kroger

• Bonus Box Tops: In order to participate, you will need to head to www.RewardYourSchool.com and register. Then simply scan your Kroger shopping card and your reward will print automatically. Hurry, though, because this deal won't last long (you have until September 8th)!

Pike Nursery

• Tell Pike about Braelinn Elementary whenever you purchase something to get points for the school. Every 600 points earns us a $30 gift card to help pay for our beautiful landscaping and for our courtyard!

Publix

• You can get a free Publix card at the PTO table. When at Publix, have them scan your card and Braelinn will receive a percentage of all your shopping. Don't forget to use your card at the pharmacy! We just love free money!

Scrip

• You buy gift cards from PTO Scrip program, and a percentage is given back to the school. The amount you pay is the same amount as the gift card, so Scrip is a simple way to budget for your family & give to the school. Don't forget to use Kroger Scrip at their gas station. POSSIBILITIES ARE LIMITLESS!

Spirit Nights

• Eat out on our spirit nights at the designated restaurant and Braelinn receives a percentage of the profits that night. Have a night off from cooking and help support the school. Chick-Fil-A, Johnny's, Bruster's & others are happy to support our school!

Target Shoppers

• Target is giving away "Double Bonus Box Tops" certificates between 8/15/10 and 8/28/10 (click here for details).
• If you happen to use a Target Visa "REDcard" credit card on a regular basis, you can designate Braelinn the school you support through their "Take Charge of Education" program. They'll give us back up to 1% of your eligible purchases. Log onto www.Target.com for more details.

Tyson
